Course aims & objectives

For In-Flight Supplies Operators (Visual Check and Hand Search), including those with access to identifiable IFS, who take part in the completion of final search, take part in searching of the vehicle load compartment, have screening by visual check and hand search responsibilities, complete the IFS Security certificate, and have supervisory responsibilities

Course Aims:
To familiarise trainees with the nature of the threat to aviation and the basic security measures in place to counter that threat.
For trainees to understand their role and responsibilities in relation to the security of In-flight Supplies.
For persons working in the In-flight Supplies environment to learn about the context and requirements within which they will operate

Modules Included and Aims:
Module 1 – Threat to Aviation – To ensure the trainees know the threat to the aviation industry
Module 2 – Security in the Aviation Industry – To give trainees a basic understanding of the organisation of aviation security and the role they play to contribute to security.
Module 3 – The Trainee's Role – To explain what the trainee MUST do to support a robust and resilient aviation security culture.
Module 5 – Overview of In-Flight Supplies – To ensure the trainees understand the nature of In-flight supplies. Please be aware that a practical session will be needed to be certified on this module.
Module 6 – Screening Overview – To ensure the trainees understand the background to screening of IFS.
Module 7 – Visual Check – To ensure the trainees are able to carry out an effective visual check of IFS. Please be aware that a practical session will be needed to be certified on this module.
Module 8 – Hand Search – To ensure the trainees are able to carry out an effective handsearch of IFS. Please be aware that a practical session will be needed to be certified on this module.
Module 12 – Final Search – To ensure that trainees understand the requirements for final search. Please be aware that a practical session will be needed to be certified on this module.
Module 13 – Dispatch – To ensure that trainees understand the requirements for dispatching secure IFS.
Module 15 – InFlight Supplies Security Certificate – To ensure that trainees understand the requirements for completion of the Inflight supplies security certificate (8.2). Please be aware that a practical session will be needed to be certified on this module.
Module 16 – The Role of the Supervisor – To ensure trainees know the role of the supervisor.
